HS Prom Wins CSN Finals!

September 13th, 2014

The age old question about trivia in greater DC was once again answered by "High School Prom" from SoBe with resounding force: trivia players in Virginia are smarter than Maryland!

After winning the Winter 2014 Tournament of Champions, "High School Prom" started off trailing "Victory Nachos" from Brickside in Bethesda, MD. After 5 grueling rounds of trivia "High School Prom" won by a dominating 29 points!

The evening was rife with redonkulous trivia questions written by District Trivia's Trivia Master Jared Stern that had teams groaning throughout the night. Bonus rounds included 10 impossible Harry Potter puzzle questions, pictures of 10 obscure Google Doodles, a complete Monopoly space fill-in, and a music round puzzle that defied all teams but increased the trivia street cred of the District Trivia crew.

The Comcast SportsNet crew was also on hand with Redskins, Capitals, and Wizards tickets for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place prizes, hundreds of CSN Trivia Challenge t-shirts for all of the players, and bright orange "Official Trivia Official" polos for the trivia hosts. The CSN Trivia sports round was again hosted by the Michael Jenkins of SportsNet Central.

The evening culminated with asking players to name all 4 colors in a box of 64 Crayola crayons that had only 4 letters. Waiting for the arguments to ensure, the District Trivia hosts were ready with an actual box of 64 Crayolas purchased hours before as proof that "teal" and "aqua" were not included. The lucky 5th place team took the box home.

Question debates were hot throughout the evening from savant players including debates about Howard the Duck being the first Marvel movie and the full name of the ill-fated Toyota Celica Tsunami.

But, at the end of the night we all had a great time and are looking forward to the Tournament of Champions Finals on September 19th where we will work on breaking the World Record for "Largest Music Quiz"! Come be a part of the fun and see if "High School Prom" can continue their winning streak!
